FIREWORKS: Echoes of painful celebrations

| July 14, 2019 1:00 AM

This is for those selfish people who light their unnecessary fireworks, not just firecrackers, days before and after the 4th.

The asinine and macho behavior that “Hey, it’s the holiday, just celebrating,” includes the problematic and unnecessary suffering of the neighborhood’s family pets. The fireworks instill terror that takes days, if not weeks, to recover.

My pup can’t even eat or relieve himself for days at a time, and don’t forget the pets that injure themselves diving for cover under whatever they can find.

For the love of Pete, have at least some character and insight and understand that you live in a populated area. Common sense should prevail on your part to have even the slightest compassion for your neighbors.

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but I believe “what goes around comes around,” and karma will deliver.
