- Anyone with information about Thursday night's brush fire on Best Hill off 15th Street in Coeur d'Alene is asked to call the Idaho Department of Lands tip line at 208-666-8697. The cause is undetermined and still under investigation. It appears to be human-caused, according to fire agencies. Investigators are also interested in video or photographs of the fire before firefighters arrived.

- Avista Utilities has started the construction of the Cabinet Gorge Dam Fishway on the Clark Fork River in Bonner County. It is expected to be complete in fall 2021. The project is part of Avista’s compliance with its federal operating license and the Endangered Species Act to provide safe and effective passage of the threatened bull trout traveling from Lake Pend Oreille to their spawning tributaries in Montana. Construction is the result of more than 20 years of research and testing to determine how best to move migrating bull trout over the 208-foot-tall dam.
