LEWISTON — Trevor Vandever singled to score Tanner Vandever for Northern Lakes in a 9-1 loss to the Lewis-Clark Twins in the first game of a North Idaho League baseball doubleheader at Harris Field on Wednesday.
In the nightcap, Lewis-Clark pitcher Tyson Wallace limited Northern Lakes to one hit — a single by Isaiah Graham with two out in the fourth inning — as the Twins beat the Mountaineers 11-1 to get the sweep..
Northern Lakes (0-12 in league) will be the fourth seed in next week’s Class AA Area A (district) tournament starting next Friday at Thorco Field in Coeur d’Alene. Northern Lakes will face tournament host Coeur d’Alene in the opening round at 4 p.m., followed by second seeded Lewis-Clark (21-15, 9-3) and third seeded Prairie (10-19-1, 4-6) at 7. Prairie concludes the regular season with a doubleheader against Coeur d’Alene starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Thorco Field.
