- The Coeur d’Alene Health Corridor’s last design workshop begins at 5 p.m. tonight in the Edminster Student Union Building at North Idaho College. The results of the workshops’ community input will be unveiled during tonight’s two-hour finale.
- Initial numbers from Diamond Parking indicate more people attended the Fourth of July festivities in the park and along the beach than last year. The parking company collected $27,035 over July 4, up 7 percent from last year’s numbers. These gross numbers have not been finalized, as they do not consider contributing factors, such as the impact this year’s carnival had on parking.
- Coeur d’Alene and Lake City High School student athletes are planning a car wash fundraiser at 9 a.m. Saturday at Northern States Wholesale, 211 W. Kathleen Ave. in Coeur d’Alene to pay for travel to the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic National Championships. Nate Burch of CHS will compete in the 110 high hurdles, 4x100-meter relay relay and 4x400-meter relay. Jacob Schnatter of LCHS will compete in the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays. Angelyca Chapman of LCHS will compete in the 400-meter, 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays.
- The City of Spirit Lake and the Community Library Network will hold a free Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spirit Lake Elementary. Garbage, police, fire, military and SWAT rigs will be featured. There will also be a helicopter, motorcycles and a K9 demonstration.
- Schweitzer Mountain Resort has begun construction on a 30 unit, ski in/ski out boutique hotel adjacent to the existing Selkirk Lodge. It will include a 50-seat restaurant, bar and outdoor patio, co-working space and exercise area. The opening is anticipated in Fall 2020.
- Tickets are on sale for “Madame Butterfly” at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, 1001 W. Sprague Ave., Spokane, for performances on Sept. 20 and 22. Soprano Elizabeth Caballero and tenor Chad Shelton will star. Both artists performed in the 2018-19 New York Metropolitan Opera.
