Lums fall to 2-1 at tourney

COEUR d’ALENE — Marcus Manzardo doubled to score Quinn Conces to cut the deficit to 4-3 in the seventh inning for Coeur d’Alene, but the Lums were unable to push across the tying run in a loss to the Parkland Twins of Spruce Grove, Alberta, in pool play at Spokane/Coeur d’Alene Wood Bat Classic at Thorco Field on Saturday.

Coeur d’Alene, now 2-1 in the tournament, concludes pool play at Thorco Field today against the Spokane Northstars at 4:30 p.m. and the Kennewick Outlaws at 7.

After falling behind 2-0 vs. Parkland, Coeur d’Alene tied the game on a two-run single by Jackson Scherr in the third inning.

David Kraak struck out six for Coeur d’Alene (23-10-1).
