GOP: They're 'reliably clueless'
I see The Press has published another effort by Republicans to sugarcoat their taking your control of the government away by limiting the initiative. I’ve said it before — don’t vote Republican. Vote Constitution party, Libertarian party, Democratic party.
The Republicans are trying to take your control of the government away from you. This guy babbled on about needing to be inclusive in where the signatures for initiatives come from etc. Don’t be clueless. There is literally no reason to even have umpteen signatures on a petition to put an initiative on the ballot.
The initiative petition doesn’t make the initiative law; it still has to be passed by the electorate. Here’s where the reliably clueless Republican will start wailing about how much it will cost to put initiatives on the ballot. Really?
Chuck Malloy, that reliably right wing hack The Press publishes, estimated that the “sideboards” that the Legislature stuck on the Medicaid were going to cost the state a couple of million more than if they’d just passed the initiative as written. “Sideboards” that primarily added work requirements for people who were already working (otherwise they would have qualified for basic Medicaid without the expansion).
If the state has that kind of money to blow for no good reason, they can afford to spend a few tens of thousands of dollars (literally) more to put a few more lines on the ballot and give the electorate control of their government.
