| July 2, 2019 1:02 AM

SPOKANE — The host Indians’ bats fell silent over the final five innings, as two Salem-Keizer relievers combined to close out a 7-5 Volcanoes victory on Monday night before 3,429 at Avista Stadium.

Yoel Veras and Ben Madison had five strikeouts in four innings of relief as Salem-Keizer (11-7) limited Spokane (10-8) to seven hits in the game.

A first-inning triple by Tanner Gardner helped the Indians take an early 2-0 lead before the Volcanoes scored six runs over the next three frames.

David Garcia hit his second home run of the year for Spokane, which hosts Salem-Keizer tonight at 6:30.
