Lums fall in third-place game

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen led into the sixth inning, but the Jackson Giants of Jackson Hole, Wyo., tied it in the seventh and scored three runs in the eighth to beat the Lums 6-3 in the third-place game of the Bozeman Bucks Heroes Park Invitational on Sunday at Heroes Park.

Jake Brown went 3 for 4 and scored a run for Coeur d’Alene (19-9-1), which finished 3-2 in the tourney. Jackson Scherr hit a two-run double in the first inning to open the scoring for the Lums.

Coeur d’Alene plays host to Lewis-Clark on Tuesday in a class AA North Idaho League doubleheader at Thorco Field at 5:30.
