NATO: Do the math

The following is a message I sent our rep;

Dear Mr. Fulcher

RE: “NATO Vote,

Coeur d’Alene Press”

I consider myself a Conservative Libertarian and I am also a voter in the North Idaho. I was very interested to hear your opinion on the vote that recently came up that you referred to as “NATO Vote.” I was very displeased and disheartened by another misleading lie, a misunderstanding of what the vote was about and a total lack of knowledge of the issue.

Please don’t make me explain to you how to do simple elementary school math of how our share of NATO is calculated. Please don’t make me explain to you how the politics of just paying 2 percent of GDP for our military would play out to your voting public versus leaving NATO altogether. Finally, please don’t make me explain what the economic impact would be to the economy of the USA if we reduced our spending on our military.
