AMERICANS: Let's make a deal

I read the hatred in the newspaper everyday. I see the violence on TV. I hear the screams of hungry children. I have seen people die because they could not afford health care in this country. There are the cries of homeless men and women. Big companies want to come in and pollute our water, air and land.

None of this will go away overnight and clearly we need to figure out solutions to these ongoing problems. Borders need to be secured but not with a wall or any other structure you want to call it. Immigration has been and is a problem that should have been solved a long time ago.

Is government the problem? Yes and no. We all take responsibility for electing officials that are not after our best interest or even their own. We send people to Washington thinking that they will solve our country’s problems and the problems continue.

However, arguing and bickering has done nothing to solve our major problems. We need to work together, silly as this may sound, to find real solutions to real problems. Beating a president down whether it be Bush, Obama or Trump solves none of these problems. I want a government that works for me and my family, not special interest groups.

This finger pointing and division of sides has got to stop or we can say goodbye to our democracy. So I ask, can we not make a deal and work together. Just asking. Stop the blame game people. No president is perfect and they all make mistakes. USA is a great country, but it looks rather weak and petty right now. Let’s fix our problems together.
