POT: Resistance is futile

| January 20, 2019 12:00 AM

It’s time we as Idahoans come to grips with the inevitable.

Legalization of marijuana.

As more and more states move to legalize cannabis for medical and recreational use, states that refuse to do so are missing out on millions of dollars of tax revenue that could be used for very good uses (school security, elimination of the grocery tax).

I see a large number of Idaho plates in the parking lots of cannabis stores in Spokane. This brings to light the irony that Idaho will gladly sell you a gallon of vodak, but the little plant is somehow bad.

HR 420 has been introduced in the 116th Congress, and whether it passes or not, it will eventually be legal as more states assert their independence from Big Brother.

Prohibition has not and never will work.

Cannabis should be handled like alcohol: 21 to buy and no impaired driving or operation of machinery.

Please contact your elected officials to voice your support for the legalization and freedom that many other states enjoy.

P.S. Republicans, this would make a great item to steal the thunder from Democrats, as it for sure will be a topic in the 2020 presidential election.
