Tell us about yourself

Generation: I’m actually quite proud to say I’m a millennial. I know there’s often such negative thoughts on the generation, however so many of my friends are creating and running successful businesses as millennials. Perhaps we all will set a different view long-term.

Career and community involvement: I started Northwest Pet Resort in 2010 during a less-than-ideal economy. However, I knew that with enough diligence and love, we could create a community of pet owners that felt part of something bigger than a standard business. Our goal is to bridge all aspects of community and leverage what we were blessed with to give back to our region however we can.

Parental status: I am the proud dad of two boys, Noah, who is 5 and Jacob, who is 4, as well as a baby girl that my wife, Ashley, and I will be welcoming to the world in June!

The Fast Five: A quick Q&A

1. What’s a perfect day?

A perfect day for me would be to help Northwest Pet Resort accomplish a successful day in taking care of people’s pets, whether the owner is at work or on vacation, in addition to nurturing relationships with friends and colleagues, combined with cultivating new relationships with local entrepreneurs! Afterward, being able to spend time with my wife and sons, then ending the day tucking our children in after story time.

2. What’s your least favorite household chore?

My least favorite household chore would definitely have to be folding laundry. I love the laundering aspect, minus the folding component!

3. What motivates you in your career/business?

I would say the No. 1 thing that motivates me would have to be innovating the pet industry for the betterment of the consumer. So much of what transpires is antiquated and people aren’t aware of what they should expect in terms of care for their pets at facilities as well as nutrition information, psychology and safety, whether on trails, in dogs parks or their own neighborhood. It is so fulfilling to talk to someone and help them to create a well-balanced life for their furry family!

4. What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I used to be quite an aficionado on the soap opera "General Hospital."

5. If your life story was made into a movie, who would play you?

I asked my wife, Ashley, and she said Ryan Gosling. I’d be good with that!
