CHRISTIANS: Welcomes work wonders

| January 13, 2019 12:00 AM

A Jewish lady from Rathdrum opened her heart in a recent letter to The Press. She wrote that she previously had served her country. Thank you for your service. She further stated that her father had advised her not to move to Kootenai County. She moved anyway and possibly she let her father’s fear keep her from enjoying the country and people around her.

The Christian religion is based on Judeo/Christian writings in the Bible. Abraham was told that through his faith, his followers would be numbered as the sand in the sea. Other Jewish prophets forecast the birth of Christ, His teachings, death and resurrection.

A devout Jew, Saul, was on his way to Damascus to arrest some of Christ’s followers and bring them to Jerusalem for imprisonment, when a bright light from above temporarily blinded him and a voice asked him, “Why are you persecuting me?” He regained his sight and was given a new name, Paul, who became the most prolific writer of the New Testament.

I’m sorry for the Jewish lady and hope that those who profess to be Christians will welcome her to the area. My wife and I delivered Meals on Wheels for years for the Rathdrum Senior Center. While doing so, we met some very nice people who meet at the center to enjoy lunch and the social atmosphere. I’m sure the Jewish lady would find comfort there.
