CONGRESS: Pay to play

Our government has degenerated into a game played by Democrats and Republicans who do not represent Americans. Our Congress is made up mostly of lawyers who, according to Ben Carson, “Have been trained to win at any cost” and it seems even to the loss of our own sovereignty.

Those elected to Congress always talk about what they want or what their party wants, and none of them ever mention what their constituents want...those they were elected to represent. Their “constituents” seem to be their fellow Republicans and Democrats and not the American taxpayer.

Congress is more interested in themselves or their lobbyists and not what is good for the American taxpayer or for America. Pelosi said in her speech on Jan. 3 that “the congress will always be the people’s house.” HA HA. When has it ever been the people’s house?

Congress shut down the federal government and stopped the pay for hundreds of thousands of federal employees, but the pay always continues for Congress. Why? Because they make the laws and always protect themselves first. Maybe it is time for the president to sign a useful executive order which stops the pay for Congress when they fail to keep the government open because of their selfish games.

I would write more, but like the federal government’s “political correctness” censoring our speech, the editor of this paper censors what we say by limiting how much we can say.
