Joanne Frank Meyer, 82
Our beloved wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, Joanne Frank Meyer, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away in her home Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. Joanne was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Dayton, Wash. She married Donald Frank in Walla Walla, Wash., on Sept. 18, 1957.
They made their home in Post Falls, Idaho, since 1973. Joanne worked for the Post Falls School District for 10 years and subsequently worked for numerous dentists in the Post Falls area until she retired in 1994. Don and Joanne wintered in the Southwest area since 1997, traveling and exploring the area.
Joanne spent many years volunteering her services at the Post Falls Hospice Thrift Store and giving back to her community and lending a hand wherever it was needed. After 51 years of marriage, Joanne’s husband, Don passed away in 2008. She met David Meyer in Casa Grande, Ariz., and they were married on Nov. 10, 2010. They had eight wonderful years of camping, family gatherings in both Idaho, Washington and Iowa, and wintering in Arizona. Joanne was a courageous, faithful, moral and disciplined woman. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, David Meyer; her children, Kellie (Ed) Canger of Post Falls and Steve (Kerrie) Frank of Greenacres, Wash.; grandchildren Anthony (Alicia) Canger, Donny (Chelsea) Frank, Nick (Caitlin) Canger and Kiley (Jared) Bangs; stepchildren Kim (Tim) and Susan of Iowa; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Weed of Walla Walla; Darrell (Bev) Chapman of Dayton; Delbert (Norma) Chapman of College Place, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Many thanks to Hospice of North Idaho and your love for our Mother and teaching us so much about love and death and family, and treating our loved one with such dignity.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at River of Life Friends Church, 3263 E. 12th Ave., Post Falls.
