Taylor, Simpson shine

COEUR d’ALENE — Emmitt Taylor III hit 8 of 15 3-pointers and poured in 29 points as first-place North Idaho raced past last-place Blue Mountain of Pendleton, Ore., 128-85 in Northwest Athletic Conference East Region play Saturday at Rolly Williams Court.
Nate Pryor added 31 points, seven assists and four steals for North Idaho (23-2, 12-0 NWAC), which shot 62.2 percent (51 of 82) from the floor. RayQuan Evans had 21 points, six assists, five steals and five rebounds, and Phillip Malatare had 21 points, 12 assists and three steals.
Mekhi Foreman hit 7 of 9 3s and scored a game-high 38 points for Blue Mountain (4-19, 2-10), which trailed just 48-42 at halftime.
NIC, which topped the 100-point mark for the 16th time this season, travels to Walla Walla on Monday for a makeup game at 4 p.m.
