Strength coaches conference

set for Feb. 15-16 at Cd’A High

COEUR d’ALENE — The inaugural Inland Northwest High School Strength Coaches Conference is scheduled for Feb. 15-16 at Coeur d’Alene High from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

This event is open to all sport coaches, P.E. teachers and private trainers who work with middle school- and high school- aged student athletes that wish to grow their knowledge of strength and conditioning by learning the best practices of nationally recognized experts and collaborating with professional peers from the region.

Four guest speakers will preside over 12 sessions over two days.

“The mission is to provide P.E. teachers and sport coaches with a unique professional development opportunity in the ever-changing field of athletic development,” said Bud Rasmussen, event organizer. “Four nationally recognized expert high school strength coaches — including two who have been received national high school strength coach of the year honors — will be presenting and all coaches will be exchanging information on the major areas of program design, strength, power, speed, agility and injury prevention.”

College credit is available.

Cost is $75, which includes a T-shirt.
