Drumroll, please …

The stage is set.

While the 2019 Press Christmas for All campaign is a success by almost every measure, donors hadn’t quite reached high enough to place the bright gold star atop the campaign’s Christmas tree.

But with Press offices closing at noon Tuesday before mailed donations could be dropped off and with the optimism that always seems to surge this time of year, there’s hope that the star will yet shine in this 34th season of giving.

The good folks at Super 1 Foods gave the star-quest a boost with their $7,500 contribution. Anonymous in Athol is waiting in the wings: If the campaign can get to $195,000, A in A will toss another $10,000 log on the fire, matching his previous gift and lifting Press Christmas for All to its stellar $205,000 goal.

It’s also not uncommon for donations to reach The Press the day after Christmas, so here’s the plan.

On Thursday, Hagadone Corp. financial wiz Eric Haakenson will assemble a final tally of the 2019 Press Christmas for All campaign, which we’ll happily share with readers on Friday.

Meanwhile, bask in the joy of this day. Merry Christmas to All!
