Robert C. Lewis

July 4, 1957 – Nov. 29, 2019

Robert C. Lewis, of Spokane, passed away on Nov. 29, 2019, at the age of 62. He was born in Meridian, Miss., to Inez and James Lewis, on July 4, 1957. He moved to Coeur d‘Alene in the 1970s and graduated from high school there.

He started a construction company, Spokane Structures, in 1984, and built hundreds of pole buildings throughout Spokane County and beyond. Throughout his career he has owned Home Plate Bar and Grill, Home Plate Sports Complex, Pleasant View Marine and most recently, Specialty Structures.

He was an avid fisherman who spent many years sharing his love for the sport with his friends and family. He loved to spend the winters in the snow, snowmobiling with his son and friends, and spending the summers enjoying the lake with his Conklin crew. Rob was a good friend to many. He mentored countless people through the years and introduced many to the pole building business.

Rob is deeply missed by his wife, Kristina Hanks; his children Shane Lewis, Rechelle Janecke, Katy Fiala and Bethany Fiala; and his grandchildren Teyha Garel, Hunter Maultsby and Mia Fiala. A private celebration of life was held at an earlier date.
