Basketball registration: The Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department will register Dec. 16-Jan. 3 for the kindergarten, first- and second-grade boys or girls basketball leagues.
The program is set to begin approximately the third week in January and run through mid-March.
Cost is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents. Registration is at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall, Recreation Department, 710 Mullan Ave., or online at cdaid.org/recreation. Scholarships are available at the recreation department office.
Boys and girls will play in separate leagues. Kids are placed on teams by school. Games and practices are scheduled Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
Practices will begin middle of January and last about two weeks with games to follow. 8-foot baskets and a junior-sized basketball are used.
Volunteer coaches are needed.
Team sponsorship is $145; deadline to sponsor is Jan. 3.
