- Paul Bunyan Days is four days of fun in the town of St. Maries. Here are some highlighted events.
Saturday
All day Carnival and merchant fair.
10 a.m. Junior Olympics.
Noon Water events.
1 p.m. Crash for Cash Demolition Derby at the fairgrounds.
7 p.m. Tug-of-War.
9 p.m. Fireworks.
Sunday
7 a.m. Community breakfast at Eagles Lodge.
10 a.m. Valley Piecemakers quilt show at Heyburn Elementary, auction at the soccer field.
1 p.m. Kids pool events.
6 p.m. Fireworks pre-show.
9 p.m. Fireworks show, with open mic to follow.
Monday
10 a.m. Parade.
Noon- Carnival and booths close, kids events begin.
1 p.m. Logging Events.

- Fall Fest at Schweitzer Mountain will have 10 bands, over 80 beers, ciders, seltzers and wines, a soda station for the young ones, food from 14 different vendors and a variety of arts and crafts booths. It’s the last chance of the summer to take the chairlift up the mountain for sightseeing, hiking and mountain biking. Prices start at $15.

- 40th Annual Pig Out in the Park, at Riverfront Park in Spokane, is a six-day food and music festival with 57 food booths, four beer gardens, national, regional and local artists and vendors and free concerts all weekend long on four stages.

Sunday
- Noon | Spirit Lake’s annual Labor Day on the Grass Car Show features more than 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles. There will also be live music, a beer garden and a variety of food and craft vendors and merchants.
Monday
- Noon | Labor Day Barbecue, Car Show and Poker Run at Q’emiln Park in Post Falls. Parking at the park is $5.
- 1 p.m. | Coeur d’Alene Symphony’s free Labor Day Concert in the Park, located at the Rotary Bandshell in City Park downtown Coeur d’Alene.
- 7 a.m. | Lions Club hosts its annual Labor Day Breakfast at the Rathdrum clubhouse at the corner of Highway 53 and Meyer Road. Cost is $5 per person or $20 for a family of five.
