DEFINITIONS: Proud to be a nationalist

| August 30, 2019 1:00 AM

Nationalist. Nationalism. Just what is the media referring to? I actually looked it up in Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language. Nationalism — 1. Devotion to one’s nation. 2. The doctrine that national interest, security, etc., are more important than international considerations. 3. The desire for or advocacy of national independence.

These definitions make me proud to be a nationalist. As a recently retired tradesman who has worked with many different ethnicities, we all felt the same way while we were building America, national pride always trumped politics. Trust me politics made for some very interesting and sometimes heated discussions. At the end of the day, we all wished each other a safe return home and meant it.

I don’t know if you noticed we Nationalists never wear masks to hide our identity (masks are generally something bad guys use to hide theirs). A disturbing observation on the Portland protests is two of the three groups (nationalists, antifa and police) were masked. One wonders — if things got out of hand, whose side would the police be on.

Nationalism is not racism, unfortunately, a nation, politically driven, drive-by, fake news media with all their floundering influence will constantly attempt to redefine the term. Educate, don’t hate, don’t be fooled and don’t drink the Kool-Aid. I’m actually willing to bet most people believe what the mainstream media is preaching will not even know what “don’t drink the Kool-Aid” even has reference to. Do you?
