BUDGET: Can't sustain this debt
Twenty-eight senators, Sen. Risch included, had the courage to face their corporate contributors and vote against the open-ended “Bipartisan Budget.” The others are like bison stampeding toward a jump that will end in tragedy.
The federal budget deficit is predicted to exceed a trillion dollars a year over the next several years.
Get real folks, we can’t sustain this insane debt. The middle class is being played like a fiddle. Some members of Congress have no real incentive to correct the problem.
Unlike middle class Americans, who will lose their homes and insurance in a sudden economic downturn, the legislators have lucrative government-funded retirement and health care plans.
The senators who voted for the budget are riding a political parade, throwing millions here, and billions there, like candy to the kids.
I became a Republican when Barry Goldwater was running for president. His conservative plan was real.
Since then, administration after administration touted a balanced budget but failed miserably. In 2016 the Republicans had control in both houses of congress and the presidency; yet, they made no effort to progress toward a balanced budget.
Corporate welfare took center stage and it is sucking the blood out of the nation.
Yes, the unemployment rate is at a record low and Wall Street is on a roll, but as a nation we are on a coke high that when it wears off, God help us.
