POST FALLS — Post Falls wants to hear from its residents on the future of the city's parks and recreation programs.

An online survey is available through Wednesday at www.postfallsparks.org/open.

The survey may be completed on a computer or a mobile device.

The survey will help the future of the city's parks and recreation programs as part of the city's update on its Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

"This survey is used to help the department set the direction for new programs, events, capital improvements and improvements to existing parks and facilities," said Bryan Myers, parks manager. "We use the results of this survey to check that we are delivering services that reflect our city and its residents.

"Community input is an important part of this process and helps the city to tailor the plan to reflect the community’s desires and needs. We are looking for feedback on all city parks and the programs offered by the department."

A random sampling of 4,500 households were also recently mailed a survey.

Results from the surveys will provide information in determining community values, satisfaction levels, needs and priorities, and demographics for the city’s long-term planning efforts.

Questions include what types of programs, facilities and services residents want in their parks and recreation system and where priorities should be placed.

The results of the surveys will be presented the week of Sept. 17-20 during workshops. Times and locations will be announced soon.

The city tapped GreenPlay LLC to update the master plan. The project is being paid for with park development impact fees.

"We are looking for insight into the opinions of users and non-users of our programs, parks and trails," Myers said. "It is our goal to have parks and programs that reflect the community. Over the next 10 years how do we as a department meet the needs of a growing community?"
