NIC: Quality at the heart
This is in regard to the recent sanctions against the North Idaho College men’s basketball program. NIC does not get quality players as a result of housing conditions. Basketball players join the NIC program because the coaches are effective in teaching them ways they can improve their game. Corey Symons and George Swanson establish a “family” condition within their teams. The players respect and work to help each other.
Many players are attracted to the NIC campus and the academic programs offered to them. The NIC basketball coaches work hard to place their graduates in universities nationwide, where they go on to complete their basketball careers. I believe that assistance with housing plays a very small part in the success of the NIC men’s basketball program throughout many years.
