Special needs actors needed for 'Music Man'

COEUR d’ALENE — Out of the Shadows Theater will be holding auditions for "The Music Man Jr." at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.

Auditions are open to those with special needs who wish to perform in the musical production of "The Music Man Jr.," based on the Tony Award-winning musical comedy about a fast-talking con man who gets his heart stolen.

Actors and shadow actors for previous shows have ranged in age from 9 to 68. All are welcome to audition. No experience is required.

Out of the Shadows Theater is now in its fourth season. Each November, a cast of about 30 actors with special needs takes the stage in a fully produced musical in the Kroc Center Theater.

Each actor is paired with a non-disabled shadow actor who provides support and encouragement during rehearsals and performances. Out of the Shadows is seeking an equal number of shadow actors to help make this event a success.
