COEURfest 2019 is Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m. in McEuen Park. Organized by the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce, locals will observe, learn and do in seven “experience” areas that highlight the very cool reasons why we love living here.

- All-American Experience will kick the event off with a Fairchild Airforce Base flyover, formal Color Guard flag presentation, national anthem and veteran recognition. The Coeur d’Alene police, fire and Air National Guard will be on hand giving demos on many different topics such as outdoor survival, K-9 units, flag folding and emergency preparedness. Big emergency equipment vehicles will be showcased along with Air Force support rigs to marvel at.

- Epicurean Experience will delight us with cooking demos, gardening hints, beer crafters, wine pairings and even a demo for kids on how to set a formal table. Local celebrity chefs will give live cooking demos so bring your lawn chairs to watch them prepare amazing foods.

- Science & Tech Experience will feature robots, drones (and drone races), as well as hands-on science experiences. everything high technology. Ever wonder how a catapult is made? Want to blow up stuff with highly trained (and supervised) scientist? This experience has amazing hand-on activities for curious kids of all ages.

- North Idaho Natural Resources Experience has lake and water sciences booths, farm life, timber industries and tribal exhibits. Idaho Park & Recreation is giving away an “Experience Idaho State Parks” three nights for four people in their choice of the areas most coveted camping locations. This area has more than 18 hands-on booths to explore and discover the diverse natural resources we find in our beautiful State of Idaho.

- Let’s Get Physical Experience is everything being healthy we love about our area, including lake activities, hiking, biking, rafting, rock climbing and outdoor yoga. Want to try Zumba? Learn how to dance with NIA? Wear your gym shoes, bring your yoga mats — it’s all to be found in this awesome experience area!

- All the World’s a Stage Experience will showcase the arts, with artists, musicians, writers and filmmakers. Children will participate in several hands-on art experiences. All day main stage will have performances and demos with live music at 4 p.m. headlining band Smash Hit Carnival, so bring your lawn chairs and dancing skills. Beer Garden open too!

- Commerce Experience showcases Chamber businesses and is located throughout the parks walkways. As you stroll, you will find many local businesses showcasing their diverse goods and services supported, produced and sold locally.

COEURfest is free and open to the entire community. Family friendly, hand-on activities and live music are quickly making COEURfest one of the most popular locally supported events of our area so don’t miss out! A full schedule of booth activities and demo events can be found on Facebook COEURfest event page or at www.cdachamber.com.

The next big thing at the Coeur d’Alene Chamber is the Annual Membership Drive in October. This is a great time for a business to join as the Coeur d’Alene Chamber offers great incentives and pricing. We welcome any new or rejoining business and encourage a look at the many benefits of membership.

And finally, the Chamber is wrapping up the committee selections for renewal in November. Now is the time to contact our officers if you are considering getting more involved with policy at the chamber. We are 100% membership driven and look for strong leaders with vision and fortitude to carry our 107-year-old Coeur d’Alene Chamber into the future.
