PARKING: Short gain, longer pain

| August 21, 2019 1:00 AM

I’ve read several articles about parking fees in Coeur d’Alene and thought you might be interested in the fact that I MAY not be alone in this frame of mind.

If I have to pay to park, I’m not going to shop there. I live in Athol. I’m between Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum, Sandpoint and Spirit Lake. When I go shopping … I don’t go to Coeur d’Alene. When I go to dinner, I only go to Coeur d’Alene if I don’t have to pay to park, but I usually go almost anywhere else because the area is resplendent in good, no, great local restaurants.

When I go to the lake, same thing. I can go to Hayden, Hauser, Pend Oreille, Twin Lakes, Spirit Lake, even Priest Lake. If I have to PAY, Coeur d’Alene is out of the picture.

Think about it. If I write about it, how many others simply don’t go there because it’s too inconvenient and too expensive? Good job. You may have the tourism, but you’re losing your community.
