MILESTONE BIRTHDAYS

Freda Catalano

100th Birthday

Freda Catalano is celebrating her 100th birthday on Aug. 19, 2019.

As a faithful servant of God, she provides a strong foundation and role model for her family. Her primary desire in life was to be a loving mother. She made sure her children had a safe and secure childhood filled with love and encouragement and is still that supportive, loving mother today.

However, she is also a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. She obtained her cosmetology license and within a year, she opened her own shop in Reseda, Calif., calling it “Beauty by Freda.” The business was a huge success and resulted in her opening two more shops in the San Fernando Valley. Eventually all that back-combing resulted in carpel tunnel, so she sold the shops and decided to go to real estate school.

Within three months of obtaining her license, she was presented with a reward for having the highest sales volume in the company. She continued on that path and had a very successful career in real estate.

She eventually retired and moved to Alabama. She traveled quite extensively and enjoyed being close to her family. Later, she relocated to Phoenix to an active adult community where she participated in bridge clubs, water aerobics, line dancing and numerous other activities. She moved to the NorthStar Community in Coeur d’Alene in 2013.

She has two children, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren who live in the Coeur d’Alene area. She has one grandson who lives in Romania.

She loves baseball and is a Mariner fan, and never meets a stranger! She is 100 years loved by all that have the privilege to know her.
