- The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Highs are forecast in the upper-90s. Heat-related illness will be possible, especially for those that are heat sensitive and those without effective cooling or adequate hydration. To reduce risk during outdoor work, schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
- Jean Norris, 65, of Newport, Wash., was transported to Newport Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Sunday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 2 near Oldtown. Idaho State Police said Norris made a left from the north side of the highway in front of a vehicle driven by April Stamos, 29, Coeur d’Alene. Stamos refused medical treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
