- The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will be continuing its Spokane River emphasis patrols starting today through Sunday. Speed on the river is 35 mph during the day and 25 mph at night. Watercraft within 100 feet of a dock, shoreline or structure may travel no more than 5 mph and create no wake. Within 50 feet of another vessel, do not exceed 15 mph.
- Kootenai Clinic Orthopedics and Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Coeur d’Alene Residency are offering free sports physicals for student athletes from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1919 Lincoln Way, suite 315, on a first-come, first-served basis. - The North Idaho State Fair Open Horse Show kicks off in the north arena of the Kootenai County Fairgrounds today beginning at 2 p.m. with halter, cart and English performances. Showmanship, trail and Western performance will take place Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. and ranch horse classes are 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
