CONSUMER GAL: A godsend for readers
I just wanted to send you a note concerning your consumer person Terri Dickerson.
I’ve been trying to resolve a billing dispute with Spectrum Communications for the most part of two months and getting nowhere.
They double billed me and no matter how much proof I provided, bank statements, billing statements, even their own computer statements, they would not take responsibility for their mistakes. At least they were very slow and dragging their feet.
So, after about six weeks of mounting frustration, I told them that if this wasn’t resolved in short order I was going to go public with their actions. (And that’s when the customer service rep and office manager got their knickers in a knot.)
So I turned to Terri. I emailed her explaining my situation and asked for her advice. She asked for some documentation of my issues and right away she saw what I was talking about and made some recommendations on what I could do myself and she made a phone call to Spectrum. I’m not sure what she said, but within about 16 hours I received a call from the office manager at Spectrum letting me know that my account was updated and credited with what was owed and my balance was actually +$5.
With technology making it harder and harder to talk to a live person and these type of issues being harder to get resolved, its good to have a consumer advocate you can turn to. A person who can give you ideas and go to bat for you if needed. Terri was that advocate for me.
You have a great asset in Terri Dickerson and the service she can provide.
