Patrick M. Jamison, 67
Patrick Jamison, of Rathdrum, unexpectedly passed away at his home on July 21, 2019.
Pat (or “Pea Jay” to his buddies) was born April 10, 1952, to Stan and Arlene Jamison, in Coeur d’Alene. He spent his formative years in Coeur d’Alene; Kennewick, Wash., and the Spokane Valley, graduating from Central Valley High School in 1970 (although some say he spent more time during his senior year around Post Falls High than Central Valley).
Pat worked for a time on the North Slope in Alaska, then was employed at the family business, Y-J Foods, until it closed in 1992. He spent the rest of his career as a heavy equipment operator in the logging and construction industries.
Pat married Robyn Hammrich in 1982 and had two children, Michelle and Ryan. That marriage later ended in divorce.
Pat later reconnected with an old friend, Maxine Thompson, and they became life partners, spending the last 26 years together. Max and Pat enjoyed camping, horseback riding, cutting firewood and rafting on the Coeur d’Alene, St. Joe, and Moyie rivers. Pat loved to help out anyone who asked and to socialize with a beer or two.
A highlight for Pat’s life was getting to see his new granddaughter, Arya Maisie.
Pat is survived by life partner, Maxine, at their home; children, Michelle (Michael) Jarvis and Ryan Jamison; stepdaughter, Sammi (Carey) Schorzman; granddaughter, Arya Maisie; mother, Arlene Jamison; brothers, Danny and Mike Jamison; good friends, John Nichols and Tim Griffin; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Jamison Jr. and grandparents, Moose and Neita Jamison and Grace Shriner.
A get together potluck to reminisce on Pat’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at the Hayden Eagles. Please bring your Pea Jay stories to share with the family. To see Pat’s online memorial and to leave a message for the family, please visit www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
