Margaret Susan Kamphaus

March 31, 1934 - April 23, 2019

Margaret Susan Kamphaus, 85, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away April 23, 2019. She was born in Tilden, Neb. on March 31, 1934. Her life was one of hard work, prayer and service to the Church. She grew up on the family farm near Raeville, Neb., and attended St. Bonaventure School.

Margaret was a housekeeper at the Parish Priory in Fremont and Omaha, Neb.; she also kept house for the Wisconsin Franciscan Sisters. She later worked in food service for the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. In 1960, she professed as a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.

She later moved to Post Falls and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Margaret loved cooking and baking. She was frequently found giving away fresh-baked apple pies and Easter lamb cakes.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Frank, Nickolas, Peter and Paul and her sisters, Rosemary and Bertha. She was also proceeded by death by her two sisters-in-law, Marcella Kamphaus and Betty Kamphaus. Margaret is survived by two brothers, Anthony Kamphaus of Albion, Neb. and Henry (Mary) Kamphaus of Norfolk, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Clara Kamphaus of Elgin, Neb. and a brother-in-law, Bill Budd of Belleville, Ill. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Rosary service will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. 495 N. Lincoln St., Post Falls, ID 83854. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 2834 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, 1208 Archbishop Lefebvre Ave., Dillwyn, VA 23936.
