FLUFF: Idaho's full of it
I’m responding to Devin Weeks’ well-written article on the needle and the spoon — the hypodermic epidemic. The single largest failure of our local and state electeds is the lackadaisical attitude toward problems. They have a habit of trying to fix systems that are working, such as building codes and trash pickup and handling. For years now we have been electing a new wave brand of Republican with an idea of smaller, unfunded government.
Our local sheriff and state police should have every resource available to combat such situations. A reasonable quality of life costs money. As we grow, it costs more money.
As it stands right now, we have a senator, Mary Souza, and a county commissioner, Chris Fillios, who are effective in resolving problems. The rest are just free taxpayer-funded medical fluff. It’s really time to start analyzing the fluff and asking ourselves if that’s what’s best for Idaho.
