COEUR d’ALENE — The annual 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities) spring dinner and fashion show, “Fashion Elegance,” is happening Wednesday, May 1, at The Coeur d’Alene Resort.

With doors opening at 5:30 p.m., the evening will offer a gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions, raffles, live music and inspiring fashions from local boutiques.

More than $1,400 in raffles and prizes are up for grabs. The infamous “basket ladies” have put together about 100 different gift baskets of various themes to help raise money that will be distributed to nonprofits within Kootenai County.

Featuring more than 50 models representing fashions from 18 stores, the runway will be filled with professional models, 3Cs volunteer models and beauty pageant contestants.

Marie Widmyer, wife of Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer, has spent the past 18 years as an integral part of producing this popular annual event.

The Widmyers have been Kootenai County business owners for more than 25 years. Marie owns and operates Marie’s Boutique, located in The Resort lobby, and Marmalade on Sherman Avenue, among other businesses.

This year, Marie is welcoming her daughter Kaity and her son Ben and Lindsey’s child, 2-year-old Quinn, to join her on the red carpet, bringing three generations of Widmyer ladies together for the event. Kaity and twin sister Kasey, now in their early 20s, both made their modeling debut at the Fashion Elegance show back when they were 2, starting a family tradition and nurturing a love of fashion.

“It takes a village of volunteers to plan and execute a successful fashion show fundraiser, and Marie Widmyer and her great team of fashionistas are an integral part of the success of the fashion show,” said event co-chair Bobbi Freeman. “Our gratitude for her many years of help is overwhelming, and we cannot thank her enough for helping us raise funds for our great community.”

Tickets are $75 and are available by calling Bobbi Freeman at 208-667-1479 or 509-993-4567.
