The Lake City High School Theater Department production of “Once Upon a Forest” opens tonight in the school’s auditorium.

Based on stories by the Brothers Grimm and adapted by Moniek Merkx and Elissa Adams, this family-friendly tale centers around a group of children attending a boarding school at the edge of a forbidden forest. Featuring an ensemble cast of 10, the characters unite against a fiery foe, culminating in an epic battle.

Performances are at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday, and May 1 and 2. A matinee will be this Saturday at 2 p.m.

Admission is $5; $4 for students and seniors; $3 for children 12 and younger and for Lake City students with ASB cards.
