Central Hayden options include The Reserve 55-plus community
Take the lake and golf course properties out of the equation, and homes in Hayden often meet the same affordability metrics as Coeur d’Alene and the other surrounding communities. As with everywhere in North Idaho, existing properties at starter prices remain in high demand.
For older residents, however, a new gated community offers some innovative new construction in the heart of the Hayden community. The Reserve at Hayden is a 55-plus gated community with entry from Hayden Avenue just east of Government Way near Hayden Meadows Elementary. The neighborhood began construction last summer under ActiveWest Builders, a group known for their energy-efficient and low-maintenance homes.
The development will feature 22 single family attached townhomes with sizes ranging from 1,160 to 2,200 square feet. Homes feature wide hallways and doorways, with features like radiant floor heating and quartz countertops included in the design. Snow removal and front yard landscaping is included in the neighborhoods low HOA fees. Unique, modern exteriors make the community stand out from the pack — it’s definitely worth a look right now even while several homes on the street are under construction.
Loft and two-story option townhomes are available. Prices start in the high $200,000s.
Those looking for a traditional home in the area will occasionally see some options pop up on the market. A three-bedroom home with 1,600-plus square feet on Hayden Avenue nearby is currently listed on the market for around $280,000, while a three-bedroom rancher with almost 1,200 square feet built in 1994 was just listed for around $240,000. At least two other properties in the vicinity have “pending sale” signs on their postings.
The Reserve and its surrounding neighborhoods are near the main hub of Hayden along Government Way, with the discount movie theater, Triple Play Family Fun Park, various shopping amenities and parks all within a short 1-2 minute drive. Golfers aren’t too far from Hayden Lake Country Club and Avondale, and lake access at Honeysuckle Beach is also just a short jaunt by car.
Those interested in The Reserve can visit www.ActiveWestBuilders.com for more information or contact Dalton Cunningham at 208-659-7653 or email dalton@activewestbuilders.com. You can also visit the neighborhood’s on-site trailer for sales information from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Quick Note:
Neighborhood of the Week has the scoop on several new developments that are close to being formally announced. This space will be talking about them soon, but for buyers looking for new construction around North Idaho, there will be plenty of options to choose from this summer.
