Rendering courtesy Boise State University. Installation of new FieldTurf at Albertsons Stadium in Boise began earlier this week, and is scheduled to conclude May 30. Originally installed for the 1986 season, this will be the sixth edition of The Blue. Previous replacements took place in 1995, 2002, 2008 and 2010. A shorter turf will extend to cover what used to be the track on the east and west sides of the playing surface.
NIC’s Mott named
NWAC pitcher of the week
North Idaho College sophomore pitcher Madi Mott was named Northwest Athletic Conference pitcher of the week.
Mott, from Gladstone (Ore.) High, helped the Cardinals (16-8, 14-4 NWAC) leapfrog Big Bend to move into first place in the East Region with a couple of strong outings, including two starts and a complete-game shutout over the Vikings. She finished the week with 17 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched, and gave up four earned runs.
