DEMOCRATS: Digging deep holes

Over the years I have known a number of Democrats, and though we disagreed about things like right to work, minimum wage laws and unions, we could still be friends.

Now we have someone like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez elected by the good people of New York and we have a whole new program.

AOC does not bother me. There are lots of people in the world who have philosophies that are not well thought out. What does really surprise me is the number of serious Democrats who say they agree with her.

100 percent renewable. Right now they represent less than 10 percent. Think about the amount of mining, machining and installation that will take, plus wind and solar have serious problems. The wind only blows at certain times, and solar does not work at night. How much land will this require?

70 percent taxation of the rich. It does not occur to anyone who provides all the jobs in the world: It is the rich, and when you kill the goose that lays the golden egg, there are no more eggs, no more jobs.

Replace all fossil fuels. Lots of things come from fossil fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene for aircraft, plastics, tires, some clothing, etc. America became great because of the discovery and use of fossil fuels. Twelve years. If we follow this prescription, we will soon be living in the dark.

Frankly, I prefer living in the light. How about you?
