Curtis, a 6-foot-3 sophomore outside hitter, recently signed a letter of intent to play next year at NCAA Division II Quincy University in Quincy, Ill.
The Lake City High graduate is playing at Grossmont (community) College in El Cajon, Calif., where he recently tied the school record for kills in one match, with 30.
Curtis has started 14 of 17 matches this season for the Griffins (8-9), averaging 2.58 kills per set. He also had 26 kills in a recent match.

BIG SKY CONFERENCE
Jocie Osika (Lake City High), so., Idaho indoor track and field; Kara Story (Coeur d’Alene High), jr., Idaho indoor track and field; Krista Story (Coeur d’Alene High), jr., Idaho indoor track and field; Nina Carlson (Lake City High), so., Idaho women’s basketball; Allison Kirby (Timberlake High), so., Idaho women’s basketball, were named to the 2018-19 Big Sky Winter All-Academic team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and participate in at least 50 percent of the team’s competitions. It was the first selection for Osika and Carlson, and second for both Story’s and Kirby.
MOUNTAIN PACIFIC SPORTS FEDERATION
Josie Brown (Coeur d’Alene High), sr., Washington State indoor track and field; Kyler Little (Lake City High), senior, were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation 2019 Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Scholar-Athlete team. To be selected, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average, be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at the institution prior to nomination and competed in 50 percent or more of the institution’s competitions. Brown holds a 3.60 GPA, while Little has a 4.0.
