POST FALLS — Ashley Kaufman struck out 11 in the opener and hit two home runs, and Lacey Lemburg hit a grand slam for the second time in five days as Lake City routed Post Falls 15-3 and 17-2 in 5A Inland Empire League softball Tuesday.
Lemburg’s slam came in a six-run fourth inning that broke open the first game for Lake City (10-0, 4-0 5A IEL), which hit six homers in the first game, and nine for the doubleheader. Emma Gray hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Lake City homered back-to-back-to-back in the sixth inning of the opener. Abby Jankey hit a three-run homer, and Kaufman and Lemburg followed with solo homers.
