In Lewiston on Saturday, Rutherford hit .429 while scoring 2 runs and driving in 1 in the doubleheader. On the mound, he picked up the win in the second game while only giving up 2 hits, 1 unearned run, and striking out 11 Lewiston batters.

Lake City volleyball camp: Mike Summers, head coach for the Lake City High varsity volleyball team, is the lead instructor for this camp, scheduled to run June 17-20.

The camp is for those entering grades 3-8 in the 2019-20 school year.

Cost is $55.

SELECT SOCCER

Timbers North FC 09 Boys Green: The Timbers, coached by Jason Wyatt, pushed through Mother Nature this weekend and came out with four solid wins.

Saturday the Timbers played in Spokane against local rival Spokane Sounders, matching up against the team twice in one day. The Timbers won the first game 8-6. Scoring in the first half for the Timbers were Brooks Judd, Wyatt Hartzell, Taylor Smith and Rowan Wyatt for a 4-1 halftime lead. The second half, the Spokane Sounders scored a quick four goals, but Timbers allowed only 1 more goal the rest of the way. Points in the second half, courtesy of Wyatt Hartzell, Creighton Lehosit, a second by Creighton Lehosit, and Brooks Judd.

The Timbers won the second game 10-4. Goals in the first half by Ethan Luna for two, Wyatt Hartzell, Creighton Lehosit and Jacob Melun for two. Assists were by Ethan Luna and Wyatt Hartzell. Goals in the second half came from Rowan Wyatt, Mason Taylor, Creighton Lehosit for two and Taylor Smith. Assists were by Wyatt Hartzell, Jacob Melun, Ethan Luna and Creighton Lehosit.

Sunday brought nicer weather as the Timbers North FC 09 Boys Green battled on their own turf against SCC Shadow for two games. Timbers won the first one 4-2 win with Rowan Wyatt scoring two goals, and Taylor Smith and Brooks Judd each with a goal. Assists were by Mason Taylor and Jacob Melun.

The Timbers won the final game 7-1. Goals were scored by Creighton Lehosit for two, Daniel Fuentes for 2 and Taylor Smith for three. Jacob Melun had 3 assists, Brooks Judd one. Taylor Smith, Mason Taylor and Brooks Judd played in goal.

Thorns North FC ’07 Girls Red: In the season opener two weekends ago the Thorns lost to Endeavor Academy Horst 6-4, then went on to beat Wenatchee Chandler 1-0. This past weekend the Thorns went 2-0, beating IEYSA Scotties Turnbull-Wicks 5-1 on Saturday and holding off IEYSA Storm Klauss 1-0 on Sunday.

Timbers North FC ’07 Boys Red: The Timbers battled Washington East SC B07 Brown twice in recent weeks. They played to a 1-1 tie on April 6 at home. The Timbers were in the lead after a corner kick by Kyle Waddell to a header by Ronan Sternberg. Washington East tied the game in the second half. Lukas Ruchti was in goal for the Timbers.

The two teams faced each other again on April 10, and Washington East came away with a 4-0 win.

Thorns North FC G08 Green and Yellow teams played each other on Saturday morning. Yellow won 5-2. For the Yellow team, Ella Pearson had 2 goals. Allison Carrico had 2 goals and 1 assist. Isabella Grimmett had 1 goal. Adysen Robinson was in goal for TNFC Yellow team. For the Green team Cameron Fischer and Macy Walters each had 1 goal. Kamryn Kirk and Nora Ryan each had 1 assist. Macy Walters and Libby Montgomery were in goal for TNFC Green team.

On Sunday the Thorns North FC G08 Yellow beat EW Surf SC G08 Black South 3-1. Allison Carrico had 2 goals and 1 assist. Ella Pearson had 1 goal and 1 assist. Adysen Robinson was in goal for Thorns North FC.

On April 6 the Thorns North FC G08 Green beat EW Surf SC G08 Black South 4-0. Kamryn Kirk, Nora Ryan, Macy Walters and Ella Pearson each had 1 goal.

On April 6 the Thorns North FC G08 Yellow traveled to Pullman to play Moscow United G08 Soccer Club and lost 3-2. Cameron Fischer and Allison Carrico each had one goal for the Thorns. Then on April 7 TNFC Yellow lost to Spokane Shadow G09 Valley Rave 3-2. Allison Carrico and Nora Ryan each had 1 goal for the Thorns.
