Guard RayQuan Evans, who led the North Idaho College men’s basketball team to back-to-back Northwest Athletic Conference tournament championships, has accepted a scholarship offer to play at Florida State, he announced Sunday on his Twitter feed.

“I want to start by thanking my Family, Coaching Staff, Teammates and God for making all of this possible,” Evans tweeted. “Playing Division 1 has been a dream of mine since I was little. After giving some time I have decided to further my academic and athletic career at Florida State University.”??

The 6-foot-4 Evans averaged 18.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for NIC this past season. As a freshman, he averaged 22.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

Evans will be the second NIC player in three seasons to move on to Florida State. Braian Angola, who played at NIC from (2014-16), played the next two seasons for the Seminoles.

Evans had verbally committed to Utah State last fall, before decommitting last fall. He reportedly also had offers from Gonzaga and Washington State.
