Kellogg shines in the rain

PINEHURST — Kellogg’s Taylor Bush and Kat Rauenhorst earned medalist honors at an Intermountain League match at Pinehurst Golf Course on Tuesday.

“It was yet another cold, rain-soaked day, but that is nothing new to Intermountain League golf,” Kellogg coach Simon Miller said. “Today was the first match in Intermountain League play for both the boys and girls, and it proved to be a test for everyone.”

Miller added that a significant part of the field was missing due to SAT tests.

The schools will play another IML match on Friday at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Bonners Ferry.

Heavy rains did a number on the area prep schedule on Tuesday.

Tuesday’s nonleague baseball and softball games between Asotin and host Coeur d’Alene were postponed and moved to Monday at 4 p.m.

A 4A Inland Empire League baseball doubleheader between Sandpoint and host Lakeland was postponed and moved to Monday starting at 3 p.m., with the softball games between the schools rescheduled for Wednesday, April 17 in Rathdrum starting at 3 p.m.

Nonleague baseball and softball doubleheaders between Bonners Ferry and host St. Maries were canceled.

At track meet featuring North Star League teams at Harrison Flats was canceled.

A tennis match between Coeur d’Alene Charter at Post Falls was postponed and moved to today at 3:30 p.m.

Matches between Lakeland at Lake City and Coeur d’Alene at East Valley were cancelled.
