WRESTLING
Wolfpack Wrestling Club signups are Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lake City High School commons.
First practice will be Thursday, Oct. 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs gym at Lake City.
The club is for wrestlers in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Club fee is $60, which includes T-shirt and USA Wrestling card for secondary insurance.
Coaches are Corey Owen, Lake City High head wrestling coach; and Nate Deleon, Lake City assistant wrestling coach.

COEUR d’ALENE RECREATION
Basketball: The Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department will register Oct. 1-12 for grade 3-5 boys and girls basketball leagues. Games will be held Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are set to begin the second week of November and run through December.
Registration for grade 6-8 boys and girls basketball is Oct. 15-19. This program is set to begin mid-November and run through December. Games and practices are held weekdays and Saturdays at local schools.
Cost for these programs is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents. Registration is at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall, 710 Mullan Ave.
A kindergarten- through second-grade program will register in January and be held in February and March.

JUNIOR TACKLE
Eighth grade
Chargers: The Chargers have started off the final year of Junior Tackle with a 2-0 record, now 23-0 over 4 years.
The Chargers opened the season with the Post Falls Bears, winning 38-6. The Chargers rushed for over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns. Maddix Maciosek and Kolton Mitchell each had one rushing score and Zach Johnson had 2. Kolton Mitchell also threw 2 touchdowns with a total of 85 yards passing. Zach Johnson and Varick Meredith add two more touchdowns through the air.
Last Saturday the Chargers hosted the Missoula Bengals at Lake City High School and defeated the visiting Bengals 56-8. The Chargers totaled over 600 yards of offense. Zach Johnson had over 200 receiving yards and 3 TDs. Kolton Mitchell had 90 yards rushing and 160 passing yards and 2 more touchdowns. Maddix Maciosek added another 110 yards and 1 TD on the ground, and Varick Meredith had 110 yards receiving and 1 TD. The defense was sparked by a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown by Ethan Taylor.
This week the Chargers host Kellogg.

Thorns 06 Girls White: The Thorns won 3-0 against IEYSA FC Cascade on Saturday.
FC Thorns North ’09 Girls Yellow: The Thorns beat the Spokane Sounders South Blue 16-0 last Saturday. Leading all scorers was Savannah Spencer with 6 goals, all in the second half. Other contributors were Olivia Smith with 5 goals, Ashley Yates and Ryann Blair with 2 goals apiece and Clara Schmidt with a single tally. Chloe Burkholder maintained the shutout in goal with assistance from Addison Karoblis on defense and Kyleah Cline in midfield.
Thorns North FC Girls 07 Red: The Thorns scored twice in the first three minutes and defeated EW Surf SC 07 White Valley 6-0 on Saturday. Thorns goals were scored by Natalie Thompson, Kennedy Hartzell and Libby Morrisroe, as well as an own goal. Keepers Ellie McGowan and Isabelle Morissette teamed in goal for the shutout.
Timbers North FC Boys 06 Red: The Timbers beat the Spokane Sounders B06 Shale 3-0 on Sunday. Connor Jump had 1 goal and 1 assist. Jacob Molina and Kason Pintler each had 1 goal. Braden Latscha was in goal for the shutout.
Timbers North FC 07 Boys Red: The Timbers hosted the CWS B07 White Cuevas team from Yakima this weekend, and won 3-1. Keaton Gust led the Timbers with two goals, the first scored off a rebound and the second on a cross from Philip Du. Liam Martin scored the Timbers’ third goal on a free kick.
