Celebrate National Voter Registration Day today
National Voter Registration Day is observed today, Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Secretary of State Lawerence Denney is encouraging all eligible Idahoans to register to vote in preparation for the General Election taking place Tuesday, Nov. 6.
“Citizen engagement and voter participation is an essential component of the democratic process,” Denney said in a news release. “I want every eligible voter to have the opportunity to cast a ballot and help decide the future of our cities, our state, and our country.”
National Voter Registration Day is also a great reminder for every voter to verify their registration information is up to date, said the news release from Denney’s office. This is especially important for voters who have moved, changed their name, or would like to change political party affiliation.
