GUARD: The coast is clear

Your recent feature about the Coast Guard reunion was spot on, and as a retired Chief, warmed my salty old heart.

Allow me to offer this time-worn but tested and true definition of the CG’s relationship to the other sea services: “The Coast Guard is the hard core of professionals around which the Navy and Marine Corps form in time of war.”
