Georgie's Restaurant opens in Rathdrum

Georgie’s has opened in the former Granny’s Pantry location on Main Street in Rathdrum.

A sister eatery of G.W. Hunter’s in Post Falls, it offers breakfast and lunch 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily with wild game meat (and alligator) as specialties. Robert Peichev is manager.

The place has 13 tables and counter seating for five. Phone 208-758-0279.

Motortech opens with new owners

Repairs to all makes of cars and car sales are offered at Motortech north of Denny’s at 2304 N. Fourth St.

Car sales are through nearby Dale’s Used Cars, and repairs are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturday by appointment. Phone 208-765-7676 for repairs and 208-667-4563 for sales.

Enterprise opens on Northwest Boulevard

Opening its second Coeur d’Alene outlet, Enterprise Car Rental is at 704 Northwest Blvd. It’s also at 2644 Government Way.

Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Phone 208-497-3648. Check www.enterprise.com. Google sources say it’s the largest car rental company. Hertz is No. 2.

USA Computer moves on Government Way

Offering “affordable, easy-to-understand computer service and sales for homes and businesses,” USA Computer has moved to 7397 Government Way (the former Tim’s Special Cut Meats store — now in Post Falls) from 9407 Government Way.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8-11 a.m. Saturday. Manager Bayley Straub said they also do mobile phone repair and service and free diagnostics.

- Hayden Furniture Depot has opened at 310 W. Haycraft. Details soon.

- Watch for news on Serenity Salon.

- Midtown Pub at 826 N. Fourth is now open daily for lunch and dinner.

- The State Motel at 1314 E. Sherman has been sold.

- The former Armour Antiques on Sherman will become Anytime Fitness.

- Syringa Sushi will move to the former Bistro on Spruce location on Fourth Street. And a noodle place may come into the old Syringa location.

- Panda Express is under construction at State Line. A new Arby’s may be there too.

- Keller Williams Real Estate is building a new place at 3931 N. Schreiber Way.

- Riverview Towers at 2100 Northwest Blvd. will have new occupants in Evergreen Home Loans and Meine Insurance.

- PayneWest Insurance in October will move from 703 Lakeside Ave. to Parkside Tower at 601 E. Front.

- Watch for a Jitterz coffee stand at Prairie and Heartland.

- Roger’s Burgers & Ice Cream, already with two places in Coeur d’Alene and one in Post Falls, is building a fourth, this one at 8833 N. Hess St. in Hayden.

- Hibachi Sushi is coming to 221 E. Sherman. We hear a German restaurant will be in Camera Corral’s former Sherman Avenue site (Camera Corral is now on Northwest Boulevard).

- A Profile By Sanford and a Thai Express eatery will open in Crossroads Center at Appleway and Ramsey.

- A new Fu-Ki Japanese Steakhouse is under construction where the Kynrede Cafe was at 8885 N. Government Way in Hayden.

- Incrediburger & Eggs will build a new place next to Firehouse Subs on Appleway. Idaho Central Credit Union will be across the street.

- A new place downtown will be Live For Blu fine art at 505 E. Sherman.

- Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone.

- Last Friday two of my former NIC journalism students contacted me as they ran into each other for a Cubs game at Chicago’s Wrigley Field — Loren Kelly (now a coal guy in North Dakota) and Scott Fink (a Cd’A real estate guy). They were with Viljo Basso of Syringa Restaurant. The next day they went to the Seahawks-Bears NFL game.
