MONARCH TRAIN launch event at Cd'A library Wednesday

| September 22, 2018 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — The MONARCH TRAIN will be hosting its launch event at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

MONARCH TRAIN is a nonprofit new to Kootenai and Shoshone counties that is focused on helping children become lifelong learners and encouraging them to realize their dreams through the world of art and literacy. It is a branch of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a book-gifting program that mails free books to children from birth until they begin school in participating areas.

Everyone who attends the launch event will have a chance to win a copy of Dolly Parton's children's CD, "I Believe in You," or a promo poster from the Imagination Library. A raffle will be held to win a framed, autographed photo of Dolly and other prizes. Raffle tickets are $1 each.

Prizes will also be awarded to the first 50 kids who sign up for the Imagination Library at the event, as well as to 50 who have already signed up.

The launch is free and family-friendly. Free snacks and entertainment will be provided.
